Paula Amerine, illustrator of The Art of Real Food, worked with local farmers to paint illustrations of seasonal fruits and vegetables for this lush cookbook. The paintings are visually instructive in nature, and inspire the community to see the beauty in what we eat and recognize how fortunate Placer County residents are to have such abundant options for our meals. She is a retired Del Oro High School art teacher who now paints full time at the Auburn Carnegie Library Art Studios (OLAS). Her current work is exhibited at the Sparrow Gallery in Sacramento, California.
